We wish to correct statistics printed on page 26 of the report.

It is noted incorrectly that:
"This damage to intact forest areas, driven by the abovementioned global demand for paper and lumber products, has been occurring for so long and to such an extent that less than 14 per cent of the intact Boreal Forest in Quebec and 18 per cent in Ontario remains."

This statistic should read:
"This damage to intact forest areas, driven by the abovementioned global demand for paper and lumber products, has been occurring for so long and to such an extent that an area totaling 175 million hectares, three times the size of France has already by fragmented and degraded."

Additionally, the statistics found in the yellow inset on the same page read:

• "82 per cent of the Boreal Forest in Ontario has been fragmented or degraded. 
    
• 86 per cent of the Boreal Forest in Quebec has been fragmented or degraded."

They should read:

• "Ontario's intact Boreal Forest represents 14% of the entire country's intact forest areas.
    
• Quebec's intact Boreal Forest represents 18% of the entire country's intact forest areas."
