Executive summary: Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has proposed to build a Deep Underground Dump (DUD) for low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste at its Bruce nuclear site in the municipality of Kincardine, a mere one kilometre from the shore of Lake Huron. This proposal is unprecedented in Canada, and should be treated with special concern. It will set a precedent for subsequent low- and intermediate-level waste sites, as well as a high level radioactive waste site in Ontario.
