Greenpeace ship to visit Canada Arctic Sunrise in Montreal
Our ship, the Arctic Sunrise, will visit Canada this summer - and you're invited aboard! The 162-foot vessel, will stop in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and Kingston in August and September. The ship is here to promote clean energy alternatives to coal and nuclear power, and highlight destructive logging in the Boreal Forest.

Greenpeace takes on logging giant Abitibi-Consolidated Banner hang in Montreal
Early on Wednesday morning, Greenpeace activists climbed the headquarters of Abitibi-Consolidated in downtown Montreal to hang a massive banner denouncing the logging company's destruction of Canada's Boreal Forest.

Nuclear power under fire around the worldFire at German nuclear plant
It's been a bad few weeks for the nuclear industry, in Canada and around the world. Two German nuclear plants suffered a fire and emergency shut down. A Japanese nuclear plant spilled radioactive waste after an earthquake. And here in Canada, the Pickering nuclear plant shut down for repairs because it's falling apart.

Ron McKay
Walking up this tree-lined residential street in east end Toronto, there is nothing in particular that distinguishes Ron McKay's house from any of the others in this 90 year old neighbourhood. That is until you get to the front door. There, a small brass plaque is mounted that reads: “This home generates solar electricity.” The place is a power plant.
