Spam filters are getting so complex these days that some people never see their monthly Greenpeace enews. Below are a few simple ways to ensure that your enewsletter ends up in your 'In' box where you will see it.
You will need to open an email from us, either a confirmation email you have received when you signed up, or an issue of the enews.
1. Check your 'Junk', 'Spam'
or 'Bulk' folder
Make sure your enews is not being automatically sorted into one
of these folders. The enews will have 'Greenpeace Canada' as the
sender, and the 'From' email address will be 'ems@thindataworks.com'.
If you find an issue of Greenpeace enews in your junk folder, do
one or all of the following steps.
2. Add us to your list of Contacts
or mark our messages as 'Not Spam'.
Once we have been marked as a trusted source of information, your
enews will end up in your inbox.
If you are using:
Hotmail - Click the 'Save Address' option at the
top of a mail message from us and then choose 'add to Hotmail Contacts'.
Outlook - On the Tools menu, click Options. On
the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click Junk E-mail. Click the
'Safe Senders' or 'Safe Recipients' tab. Click 'Add' and enter the
address 'ems@thindataworks.com', and then click OK.
3. Check any filters or mail
rules you've set up and make sure you don't filter us out.
Filters are meant to help you organize your email, but sometimes
they can send our enews into funny places. Make sure your filters
are not set to put our enews where you might not see it.
If you are using:
Hotmail - Click on 'Options' at the top right of
your mailbox, and then check both 'Custom Filters' and 'Junk E-mail
Protection' links to ensure that your settings are not sending our
messages to the junk folder.
Outlook - Click 'Tools' and then 'Options'. On
the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click Junk E-mail. Click the
'Safe Senders' or 'Blocked Senders' tab and make sure 'ems@thindataworks.com'
is added to the 'Safe Senders' list and not in the 'Blocked Senders'
list.
4. Turn on your 'View Images'
option for our enews.
Strictly speaking, having your images turned 'off' won't stop you
from receiving our enews, but it won't look as nice. Many email
clients allow you to automatically see the images from a trusted
sender.
If you are using:
Hotmail - Open the enews and select 'Never disable
content from this sender' at the top of the message.
Outlook - Click the InfoBar at the top of the message,
and then click 'Download Pictures'.
