On December 7, 2008 Canadians across the country participated in rallies to STOP GLOBAL WARMING. The rallies were part of the Global Day of Action that is being held around the world to let the delegates, that are in Poznan for the UN climate conference, know that the world is watching.

Caught Red-handed Selling Redlist Fish

Greenpeace activists protest the sale of threatened fish at a Loblaws store on Leslie Street in Toronto. The environmental organization launched a campaign targeting Loblaws as Canada’s largest grocer and seller of 14 of the 15 Redlist species that are most destructively fished or farmed.

Greenpeace occupies AbitibiBowater headquarters

On September 24, 2008 Greenpeace occupied the Montréal headquarters of logging company AbitibiBowater. In the early morning hours, four activists entered the offices of Canada’s largest logging company AbitibiBowater, chained themselves to the entranceway doors and are currently disrupting day-to-day operations of the newsprint multinational. They are protesting AbitibiBowater’s ongoing destruction of the Boreal Forest.
