The climate action day is being organized by 350.org. There will be activities in 160 countries with over 3000 events.
Greenpeace is encouraging Canadians everywhere to join in.
350 is symbolic of what International climate scientists say is the safe upper limit for CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere: 350 parts per million (ppm)
Canada is not doing its part to help the world meet the 350 goal.
This year is crucial. Climate negotiations designed to hold CO2 emissions to safe levels are being held in Copenhagen, Denmark in December, where the world’s leaders will meet to reach a new global treaty on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Copenhagen meetings start in less than 48 days. The world will be watching on Saturday. Make sure your voice is heard in Ottawa and in Copenhagen. Join one of the many climate action activities across Canada on Saturday.
Events are happening in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and more.
