Join the Movement: Take Action for the Arctic
What would you do to save the Arctic?
Last month 6 brave women - including Canadian Victoria Henry - climbed Europe’s tallest building to protest against Shell’s plan to drill in the Arctic. In April, a group of young people - including First Nations Canadian Kiera Kolson - trekked to the North Pole to plant a flag for the future on behalf of millions of people to call for a global sanctuary in the uninhabited part of the Arctic around the North Pole.
These are some extraordinary things accomplished by ordinary people. But you don’t need to climb a skyscraper or trek to the North Pole to join the movement to save the Arctic!
To date, almost 3.5 million people have joined the movement to Save the Arctic by signing-up and supporting the campaign. Every September, Arctic sea ice reaches its minimum level for the year and provides an important and undeniable indicator of our changing climate. As the world awaits this important announcement, Arctic defenders will join together worldwide to recruit more supporters for our campaign and gather together for a Day of Arctic Action on September 15th.
Will you join us?
Together we can ensure reckless corporations stay out of the Arctic and governments work with us to stop climate change, instead of furthering the problem by pursuing oil drilling and other destructive industries in the melting Arctic.
