Responsibilities:
· Develop campaign to stop GE crop release with specific focus on rice
· Represent Greenpeace position on Genetically Engineering campaign issue to politicians, academics and other stakeholders
· Provides expertise with respect to the Food & Agriculture, specifically on GE issues. Analyzes new developments in support of campaign objectives
· Keeps abreast of Genetically Engineering issues, conduct investigations.
· Develops and implements effective campaign plans and strategies to achieve environmental protection objectives.
· Responds to public inquiries about campaign issues and other matters. Prepares materials and publications. Attends and/or organizes conferences
· Researches and analyzes a wide range of specialized material on campaign issues and strategies. Conducts investigations. Prepares materials and publications. Attends and/or organizes conferences.
· Maintains relationship with potential and established allied groups and coalition partners. Actively seeks out and participates in discussions with influential individuals and groups. Communicates with national/ provincial/ local officials and related industries related to environment policies and issues.
· Promotes support within Greenpeace to advance campaign goals. Organizes community activities and other public events.
Requirements:
· Bachelor Degree;
· At least 3-year working experience, especially media, international organizations, research, advertisement, public relation or NGO experience;
· Research and Analytical Skills: to evaluate information, plan strategies and anticipate ramifications
· Political negotiation skills
· Interpersonal and Communications Skills: to work within teams; to facilitate public speaking engagements and interactions with other groups and interest sectors; to gain new allies and promote coalition work; to deal with the media.
· Excellent analytical, organization and communication skills;
· Excellent command of written and spoken English;
· Ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit; understand and support the idea of Greenpeace;
· Ability to work independently and in a team;
· Willingness to travel;
· Excellent computer skills and familiar with office software.
The post will be 2-year contract and subject to renewal.
