JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE (ENGLISH): Assistant to Campaign Director
POSITION TITLE (CHINESE): 项目总监助理
DEPARTMENT: Campaign
LOCATION: Beijing
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Assistant to Campaign Director (CD) provides administrative and
executive assistance to the CD to enable the effective functioning of
the Campaign Department and the fulfillment of the Department’s goals.
As a key position in the CD Office, it will be part of the coordination
team for the Department, and will have to take responsibility in
leading cross-cutting campaign projects which the CD delegates.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.External Communication
Act as first point of contact for external queries/ requests to the
Director. Keep informed of organizational and campaign developments in
order to filter communication to the Director and provide direct
responses appropriately. Maintain strong relations with key actors in
the society, especially business players, media and other NGOs, in
order to promote positive organizational image of Greenpeace. Represent
Greenpeace China as the organization’s representative in China, to
participate in external activities and give public speech as required.
Build and maintain a sound general knowledge of all Greenpeace
campaigns and issues, in order to be capable of responding to general
inquiries. Maintain good public relations on behalf of the Director.
2.Internal Communication
Ensure smooth internal communications both within the Campaign Department and with other departments.
3.Director support
Manage all matters relating to the administration of the Director's
agenda and obligations according to good business practice, to enable
the Director to work efficiently and effectively.
4.Meetings
Coordinate and assist with all aspects of meetings (including workshops
and training) as directed, in cooperation with other relevant staffs
when appropriate and within budgetary constraints, to enable efficient
and effective meetings to take place.
5.Reporting
Coordinate, produce and distribute briefing notes, background papers
and/or internal and external reports, as directed, in order to ensure
relevant materials are available on a timely basis.
6.Administrative Systems
Manage and maintain information and other administrative systems as
required, to ensure effective access to up-to-date information for the
Director and relevant units.
7.Supervision
Act as coordinator for cross-cutting or specific campaign projects delegated by the Director.
8.Cover
Provide cover for different areas in Greenpeace, as and when required
REQUIREMENTS:
1.Bachelor Degree or above
2.Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
3.Proven track record of strong skills and experiences in
administrative support, project management, networking and public
relations
4.Experience with information management systems
5.Experience working with a NGO or international organization an advantage
6.Excellent research, report-writing and editing skills
7.Fluency in written and spoken English
8.Computer skills
