Hong Kong SAR, China — Greenpeace is asking the Hong Kong public to donate a single Hong Kong dollar to help send Chief Executive Donald Tsang to crucial climate change meetings in Copenhagen in December. Is this what we have to do to make him go?

We've just kicked off a month-long campaign to rustle up the cash to give poor Donald a return ticket.

Collection box (pictured here) is in Causeway Bay pedestrian street.

We invite you to throw your coin into Donald's mouth to encourage him to start taking climate change seriously and represent Hong Kong at the UN climate summit.

All major countries will be attending these key negotiations.

Some have even put their proposed emissions cuts on the table.

Japan, for example has said it is prepared to slash carbon dioxide emissions by 25 percent over 1990 levels by 2020.

That's the bottom end of cuts as advised by the UN, but it still beats Donald who hasn't proposed anything.

"Although everyone is talking about climate change, Mr Tsang is so far empty handed as for the climate summit," says Prentice Koo, Greenpeace campaigner.

We are still waiting for a comprehensive climate policy from Hong Kong.
