Slow death of the grasslands due to China's coal mining

Greenpeace has witnessed in the country’s biggest coal power bases, located in Eastern Inner Mongolia, unchecked annihilation of ground water resources. Already there are signs of accelerated grassland and wetland degradation, forcing herders to seek alternative livelihoods.
