Greenpeace activists on the streets of Taipei and at the Chiang Kai-Shek memorial hall wear hazmat suits and hold banners and placards bearing messages related to nuclear disaster. We are urging Taiwan to stop the construction of Nuclear Power Plant Four and opt for a more sustainable future. This year we also published the report “Who is Responsible for Nuclear Disasters?”. The report provides a global study on nuclear liability laws and compensation. According to the report, the compensation by the Taiwan state-owned operator, Taipower Co. (USD $140 million) is the lowest among developed countries.
