Why these Chinese children react differently to images of a toxic spill

Video | 2014-02-12

Greenpeace has witnessed and documented a huge, black plume of wastewater, on the surface of the sea neighboring China's Wubao Dyeing Industrial Zone, which is estimated to cover an area equal to 50 Olympic swimming pools.

We recently showed images of this industrial spill off the coast of the city of Shishi to the children of Beijing, and asked them what they saw, with incredibly cute responses. But when we take the same images to an older child living nearby Shishi, his eloquent answer is a sad indictment of the environmental crimes being committed by the local textile industry.
