Exciting News! China Announced Clean Air Plan
It has taken unparalleled levels of public debate over air pollution and its sources – enormous COAL use in China. The air pollution concerns finally force a new direction for coal use:
The Chinese government has set an ambitious timeline to really solve China’s air pollution crisis, and tackle to reduce China’s coal consumption growth.
Two years ago, when our coal campaign started, something like this would have been called, well, Greenpeace dreaming the impossible. But you make this possible. Thank you!
China is the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases and coal accounts for around 80% of China's CO2 emissions. For Chinese citizens, and for the global climate, the news is all good. Of course, we hope this is just the beginning!

2013 Car Free Day – Save the Arctic
Saving the Arctic depends on all of us. On September 15, over 24,000 people cycled in over 126 cities, in 37 countries, in every continent around the world. This is the biggest demonstration ever in defense of the Arctic and stop oil companies like Shell from drilling there. In Hong Kong 200 people joined the event.

Japan is nuclear-free once more
Japan is free from nuclear power for the second time in 14 months, as the country’s last operating nuclear reactor closes for maintenance recently. This is excellent news but we must keep sharing the message loud and clear:  Japan and the world don’t need nuclear power!
