(Permanent full-time position)
You have strong communication skills gained from experience in journalism or campaigning, a demonstrable interest in the environment and the drive to cut through greenwash and expose the facts. Excellent English is a must and good knowledge of French and other EU languages a distinct advantage.
Main responsibilities
Provide clear, concise and creative communication on EU environmental issues, aimed at international EU correspondents and decision-makers.
Prepare, write and disseminate press releases, media briefings and other relevant communications material.
Coordinate and promote press conferences, interviews and briefings, and advise Greenpeace EU staff on communication activities.
Act as a media spokesperson and Greenpeace representative.
Establish, develop and maintain good relations with the EU media community.
Maintain contacts with Greenpeace national offices and Greenpeace International to help ensure coordination for EU-related communications output across the global organisation.
With the Communications Manager, develop and implement innovative and competent communication strategies on EU political and legislative issues.
Contribute to providing media training for Greenpeace EU staff and, where relevant, national Greenpeace offices.
Skills / qualifications
Minimum 3 years experience as a journalist or media officer.
Proven experience in creative writing and editing.
Knowledge of EU institutions and the EU decision-making process.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrable commitment to environmental protection.
Academic qualification.
Excellent interpersonal/networking skills.
Excellent English is a must and good knowledge of French and other EU languages a distinct advantage.
Experience with design software and IT an advantage.

Policy adviser Sustainable Agriculture
(One-year full-time position with possibility of extension)
You have the motivation and skills to research, analyse and campaign for EU policies that will make agriculture sustainable and protect people and animals from agrochemicals and genetically engineered plants. You are reliable, pay attention to detail, and enjoy working in a dynamic team.
Main responsibilities
Contribute to the development of the European Unit’s political programme and to the coordination of the implementation of EU political strategic & legislative components of the Greenpeace Sustainable Agriculture campaign in accordance with long-term campaign strategies.
Under general direction, represent Greenpeace and relevant campaign goals in the EU political context with the aim to influence EU policy.
Develop and maintain formal and informal contacts and relations with relevant political bodies within the EU as well as other groups, with the aim of building effective coalitions that can promote long term Greenpeace campaign objectives.
As directed, advise and support Greenpeace national campaigners on the implementation of the annual Greenpeace EU work programme, as well as on related EU political & legislative components of Greenpeace campaigns.
Monitor and analyse recent and relevant legislative & political developments in accordance with long term Greenpeace campaign objectives
Prepare substantive briefings and updates to inform Greenpeace campaigners and assigned media staff with agreed EU political communications guidelines in order to ensure the consistent external communication of issues.

Executive assistant
(Permanent full-time or part-time (4/5) position)
You are a committed environmentalist with good secretarial skills, common sense and at least three years of experience in providing organisational, administrative and policy assistance at senior level. You are able to work on your own initiative, establish priorities and follow through with them, and you communicate with tact and poise.
Main responsibilities
Manage all matters relating to the administration of the EU Director's agenda and obligations according to good business practice, to enable the Director to work efficiently and effectively.
Act as first point of contact for internal and external queries/requests to the EU Director and keep informed of organisational developments in order to filter communication to the EU Director and provide direct responses appropriately.
Arrange, co-ordinate and assist with all aspects of meetings as directed, to enable efficient and effective meetings take place. This will include minute taking and active follow-up on outcome of meetings.
Manage external relations and correspondence on behalf of the EU Director including his/ her representation at external meetings, conferences and seminars and accompany the EU Director to the external meetings if needed.
Monitor and disseminate relevant incoming information in order to keep the Greenpeace world updated on current internal and external developments in the relevant areas within the EU.
Co-ordinate, produce and distribute briefing notes, background papers and/or internal and external reports, as directed, in order to ensure relevant materials are available on a timely basis.
Skills required / qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience providing support at a senior level
Knowledge of the EU institutions and their decision making process is an advantage
Experience working with an NGO or international organisation an advantage
Commitment to environmental protection
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
Excellent oral communication skills
Good secretarial skills, particularly in note taking as well as writing and editing text documents and presentations
Able to work autonomously, make independent judgements, establish priorities and follow through on them
Project management skills or experience preferable
Fluent in written and spoken English and French, and preferably at least one other EU language
