I breathe air that’s free.
I drink water freely whenever I am thirsty.
I eat fresh food grown in farms in India.
I love tea. Which Indian doesn’t?
I can’t function without my many electronic gadgets.
My friends love to eat fresh fish.
For my holidays I love to go skiing or to the jungles or deep sea diving or trekking.
I live in India which has forests that support ancient tribes, endangered species and many, many living beings.

Who has ensured I can do all this? Who has quietly gone about protecting me, my children, my parents, the natural beauty of the country and its precious gifts of sun, water, air, earth, mountains? Who has gone to prison, been bullied, threatened, lathi-charged and gone without pay, all for me? Greenpeace.

And by keeping quiet today when its existence is threatened I give my tacit approval:

I submit to my children being poisoned by chemical pesticides and fertilizers in food and tea, by GM crops, by dumped radioactive e-waste that are growing alarmingly from our unchecked use, by freely mining and burning coal (the single biggest cause of climate change);

I consent to living in hotter and hotter temperatures;

I agree to eat contaminated fish and meats;

I willingly wage war for water.

I rob my children of their future.

I spend my life counting Drops - Drops of water.

I believe that I am helpless and weak and don’t count.

But I can change my choices. And by taking action on these choices, I can create a better future for all of us.

Join the movement for a better future
