Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace.
Greenpeace began its work in India in 2001. Our small team of 10-15 people started working on toxic waste trade & genetically engineered crops. Each of these issues grew into larger campaigns that we ran for several years.
Since then we have expanded our work to include a number of pressing global environmental issues. Today, we campaign on the following issues
- Sustainable Agriculture,
- Climate Change and Energy and
- Oceans protection
Our Executive Committee
Greenpeace India's executive committee is an electic mix of accomplished members of society who work on a range of issues from education to animal rights. You can see and hear them speak to you about Greenpeace and their lives.
