Photo | December 21, 2011

On the anniversary of the Quit India Movement of 1942, Greenpeace and other civil society groups sent a clear message to biotechnology and agricultural chemical giants, “Stay away from Indian farmers.” Cities across India observed August 9, as a national day of action against genetically modified crops. In Delhi, hundreds of people came together at India Gate to show their support for safe food. A message for Monsanto, the multinational seed corporation was projected on the historical monument.
