On the first day of the Convention on Biological Diversity in Hyderabad (CBD) Greenpeace activists unfurled a large banner from the balcony of the iconic Charminar monument. The banner, displaying the Indian Prime Minister’s face reads 'Stop Coal Crimes. Save Indian Forests.' Greenpeace is calling for a moratorium on new coal allocations until a forest protection criteria is set up. Actress and social activist Amala Akkineni participated in this protest as well.
