Nitish Kumar visits Dharnai, a village electrified by decentralised solar microgrid in Bihar

On 4th August, Ex CM of Bihar, and an eminent leader of JDU, Nitish Kumar visited the village of Dharnai. This village has been electrified almost after 30 years through a decentralised solar microgrid. The microgrid was setup by Greenpeace India. In 2012, Greenpeace India met with Nitish Kumar to discuss the viability of a decentralised energy model for rural Bihar. Nitish Kumar has asked Greenpeace to create one solar model village based on renewable energy. Yesterday, Nitish Kumar applauded the efforts of Greenpeace to electrify rural Bihar thorugh solar energy.
