Scrap Jaitapur project- Jatin Desai

April 26, 2011 marked the 25th anniversary of the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl. To commemorate this day and spread awareness about the human cost of nuclear disasters, Greenpeace India organised a photography exhibition in Mumbai. The photographs showcased here re-told the story of Annya Pesenko, a victim of the Chernobyl disaster.

The exhibition was attented by people from all walks of life. Jatin Desai, Secretary, Pakistan-India Peoples Forum for Peace and Democracy urges the government to scrap the Jaitapur nuclear project.

Jaitapur, Maharashtra. Jaitapur, like Fukushima in Japan, is an earthquake prone zone. The technology being used here is also untested. People across the country have been opposing this plant, but the government is quite adamant about its plans.
