More than 75% of Delhi’s electricity comes from coal-based thermal power. Coal mining is destroying Central Indian forests, home to the tiger, other species and forest dependent communities. A Greenpeace study found that coal mining threatens over 1.1 million hectares of forest in just 13 coalfields in Central India.
