An Indian flag made out of organic cotton, which does not come from Monsanto’s patented cotton seed, was an important symbol of the event. This flag was later gifted to V. Narayanasamy, the Minister of State in the Prime Ministers Office, urging him to unfurl this non-Bt cotton flag on Independence Day.
