Fish disappearing

Video | June 11, 2012

Globally and in India, the health of our oceans and fish stocks is declining. Overfishing leading to overcapacity, destructive fishing techniques, rampant pollution, destruction of breeding grounds, coastal over development are the major causes behind this decline.

If we continue to fish in an unsustainable manner, it will have far reaching consequences on our economy, on 15 million people who are employed directly or indirectly in the fisheries sector and on ecology. We need change, the oceans need protection.
