In October as Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh was preparing for his keynote speech to nearly 200 world politicians and international dignitaries at the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, Greenpeace activist Brikesh Singh and ‘Tigers’ from the Central Indian forests were also at the CBD. They were there to present a petition to the PM on behalf of a quarter million people who want to save the forests from coal mining. However, they were not allowed to enter the conference hall or meet the PM. Greenpeace’s efforts to deliver the petitions to the PM still continue.
