Three weeks ago, Greenpeace activists raided an illegal Genetically Modified(GM) Rice trial field of Bayer Crop Science in a company-owned research farm in the village of Chinnakanjarla, about 45 kilometers from Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. 10 activists planted 5 scare crows and painted the words ‘Bio Hazard” and held the message “Bayer, Hands off our Rice” in English. They also painted the universal warning symbol for bio-hazard on the field.

On 10th July, the activists who stood against dangerous GM food were asked to surrender by the police, because of unwarranted charges pressed by Bayer on 35 individuals including the general public and media who were present in the vicinity. This is Bayer's attempt to silence the right of a citizen to protest and to say No to GM food.

The volunteers have been provided bail today, but the threat to GM food remains. Take your stand against Genetically Modified food and sign the petition to Bayer.

You can upload your picture to tell Bayer, that IF STANDING FOR MY RIGHT IS A CRIME, ARREST ME TOO, I SAY NO TO GM FOOD.
