Solar Generation Around the World
In Germany, Solar Generation youth participate in art competitions, hip-hop festivals, political campaigns, fund raising, bazaars, international projects (like the one in Dharamsala), and an exchange of students between countries of the north and south.
In the US, students from over 130 university and college campuses are working to promote a clean and just energy future by demanding that their campuses use clean energy to meet a portion of their energy usage.
In France, Solar Generation youth have organized conferences, debates and exhibitions in 29 cities. A solar-powered bar serving fresh organic juice and fair-trade tea and coffee also toured college campuses around the country.
"Solar Campus", a youth project initiated by Greenpeace China and led by university students, is aimed at powering university communities with renewable energy, thereby creating a true "solar campus". The Solar Campus project has also been kicked off in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Beijing and strives to spread its message all over China.
In Switzerland, the youth solar project has installed 48 PV-systems and 42 thermal sun collectors in schools and other buildings.
