Greenpeace International (GPI) uses three vessels: The Rainbow Warrior, The Arctic Sunrise, and The Esperanza.
GPI operates these ships, and employs the ships' crew.
GPI is always looking for experienced sea going crew members, that hold the appropriate, current STCW95 licenses.

Ideal skills
Maritime specific
Detailed technical knowledge of radio communications, antennas
(mounting), ship specific electronics (grounding), (emergency)
batteries, coaxial cabling, satellite communication systems, mobile
phone systems, radar systems etc. Day to day maintenance of the ships
electronic equipment.
ICT specific
Detailed technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows (2000) & Linux
operating systems and TCP/IP based networks (LAN, Internet, routers,
dialup networking etc). Detailed technical knowledge of personal
computer accessoiries such as USB devices, printers, scanners etc.
Basic experience with common applications such as Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel), Photoshop, webbrowsers, email clients, virusscanners,
CD/DVD burning etc. Basic knowledge of wifi components &
networking. Day to day maintenance of all computer equipment (regular
cleaning etc).
Common technical knowledge of computer hardware components and the ability to make basic repairs (ie. swap faulty components).
Video/audio specific
Common technical knowledge of video & audio recording & editing techniques (hardware/software).
Social skills
Able to work independently, to work under stressful situations. Able to support the crew with any relevant ICT related matters.

Candidates must be fluent in English
and able to work with crew of varying cultural backgrounds, genders and
beliefs. Excellent communication skills and team working skills go
without saying. Applicants must have strong interest in environmental
issues.
