Purpose of the job

To develop, implement and lead the strategic promotion and placement of Greenpeace film, video, photo and other visual content in line with Greenpeace organisational and campaign objectives and within the Unit budget, in order to ensure the effective development of multimedia media strategies that contribute to achieving specific campaign and organisation objectives.

To explore and develop new channels and opportunities for delivery.
 

Main responsibilities

1. Marketing
    
Promote and place Greenpeace images and video for maximum exposure and expression of the Greenpeace Identity.  Oversee reversioning of existing library materials to target new audiences and markets. Research, identify and target  new opportunities especially in the area of online delivery of digital video content; develop new prospect list into targeted sectors.
    
Provide advice and input with regard to new opportunities and delivery channels such as digital TV, on-line marketing, Youtube, exhibitions and others in order to maximise the exposure of the Greenpeace brand and campaign messages in new and diversified ways.

Ensure branding guidelines are followed and brand perception is improved as a result of the increased presence in media platforms.
    
2. Development
    
Work with filmmakers and feature photographers to develop video and image projects which promote the Greenpeace Identity to new audiences beyond hard news, such as large format books, exhibitions, cinema release documentaries, feature film appearances and mentions, nature and animal channels, and specialised internet channels.  Manage relationships with outside projects and actively pursue new ones.  In cooperation with the Video Production Unit at Greenpeace International and video production resources in National and Regional Greenpeace Offices, identify opportunities for in-house productions to fill content demands in new markets.
    
3. Events
    
Expand Greenpeace’s network of filmmakers, videographers, celebrities, and producers by attending industry events, conferences, film festivals etc and prepare and deliver presentations, workshops, and panel discussions to draw such contacts.
    
4. Budget
Develop, monitor and authorize expenditure of the Image and Video Marketing Budget.

Skills required / qualifications

Required:
- Bachelors degree in relevant discipline such as Marketing or Communications
- At least 5 years’ relevant industry experience in a related field such as television news or documentary; photo-journalism or photo features; multimedia producer, film directorship.
- Knowledge of video production processes
- Knowledge of developing markets and platforms.
- Knowledge of marketing, branding and design.
- Good contacts at industry level
- Experience of event management desirable
- Experience of working in international media markets and audience centered thinking
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English – other language skills an advantage.
- Creativity and ability to think out of the box and seize new opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and to meet tight deadlines, including a flexible mindset regarding working hours
