Simulated Oil Spill Protest In Sicily

Activists covered in ‘oil’, hold oil rig shaped placards and banners reading: ‘A Sea of Lies, Crocetta Gave The Sea To The Oil Companies.’ Greenpeace Italy are demonstrating against an agreement between the regional government and Assomineraria, Eni, Edison e Irminio, to drill off the Sicilian coast. The event, at Mondello beach, near Palermo, is part of the Rainbow Warrior's 'Mediterranean Climate & Energy Tour', supporting the phasing out of dirty fossil fuels and shift to clean renewable energy. 07-04-2014.
