Greenpeace volunteers brand pallets of Amazonian plywood with "Protect the Amazon - Stop Criminal Timber Imports" at the UK's Tilbury Docks in 2000 with stencils and red paint so importers and consumers would know where the timber originated. Following a series of actions in the UK around this time, several UK timber companies announced they will stop buying timber from WTK Amaplac's logging operation in the Amazon. Read more »
