Thirty Greenpeace activists have stopped the operation of a giant excavator in one of the largest lignite mines in the Czech Republic. Greenpeace is demanding the Czech Republic closes the ČSA mine by 2012, commits to progressively decreasing its own carbon emissions and plays a constructive role in climate policy making.
