Originally this area had plenty of water, but Shenhua coal chemical project’s aggressive water extraction has caused drastic groundwater level drop in the area. Many trees have withered and died due to this. The lack of water has also affected wild grasses that used to grow here, leaving little for cattle to eat. Haolebaoji, Inner Mongolia.
