Greenpeace activists joined members of Green Island Cultural and Ecotourism Association and local dive operators. Locals have indicated that the reef and species around this coral have revived since the seas around it have become a protected area. Greenpeace documented marine biodiversity at several marine protected areas in Taiwan, as part of a campaign for a global network of marine reserves.
