This week will be our last chance for the UN to call for a moratorium on bottom trawling. The world is watching as Canada and Spain threaten to scupper what scientists call an "overwhelming" case. Take action now!

Hey Abri, Bit of a joint effort from Team Ocean Defenders, this one. Apparently certain people in the Canadian government don't like it quite so much ... ;) -Adele

We have been without a majority government for many, many years and in that it does not allow the ruling government the levity to push for the issues that it should be. If the vote goes the wrong way boom they are no longer in power and we head for another manority government. It is very much a lose-lose situation. In short it gives us nothing to govern with and even less to fight with in those major issues.

Hoi Dave! I'm in South Africa atm. No GP here, sadly. But trying to be a little mini-GP by myself :) And you? Been back on a ship lately? Adele, I can imagine that they're not particularly fond of it :) Hopefully it shames them into dropping their ridiculous support for Bottom Trawling. Please say thanks to the people who made it :)

I am no computer person tho I do read everything, I am long standing Greenpeace, Sea Shepherd members and anyone else I can afford like Sierra,Nature Conservancy and others but I do know this from being a southern white girl during the Civil rights battle my family protested along with us kids and I continue to do so by boycotting like M.L.K. I have not bought gas from Exxon since Valdez (it won't break them but I feel good). And I severely limit myself by boycotting any ANY other company that does wrong. If everyone would do with a little less and find out more about who they do business with, we might accomplish some more on land, I could go on but you know alot if not most of it. Rave on..............
