Guide to Greener Electronics - Microsoft March 2009

Publication - March 31, 2009
Microsoft rises to 15th position although its score drops to 2.7 points, as it loses a point for failing to clarify how its recycling data is calculated; it reports that it financedthe collection and recycling of e-waste equivalent to 17% of worldwide sales in 2007. On other e-waste criteria, Microsoft scores only on its weak support for IndividualProducer Responsibility, which it needs to make more explicit and lobby for it to be implemented, or it risks losing a further point.
