Stop Nuclear Madness, no more MOX shipments

The largest shipment of deadly plutonium in history is about to leave the French port of Cherbourg - final destination Japan. We’ve taken action to send the message that this is yet another glaring example of the unacceptable risks posed by nuclear energy.

Greenpeace activists on a crane of the Electricite' de France's (EDF) proposed new European Pressurized Water Reactor (EPR) on the second day of action against the construction site. Thirty activists from six European nations halted the construction at the site, blocking the entrance with trucks and occupying cranes and other construction equipment. Greenpeace is demanding an immediate end to construction at both Flamanville in France and Europe's other EPR site at Olkiluoto, Finland, calling the plants dangerous, unnecessary and uneconomic. Greenpeace to sue French Nuclear Industry

Over the last month there have been a catalogue of accidents at the French nuclear site Tricastin-Pierrelatte. We’ve followed all the breaking stories on our new weblog ‘Nuclear Reaction’. Now Greenpeace France has launched two court cases in an effort to find out what’s really been going on at the site.
