A recently leaked document has revealed the secret plans of the American Chemistry Council to trash anti-pollution laws in California. The internal memo, a proposal from PR firm Nichols-Dezenhall, outlines tactics such as the creation of phoney front groups and spying on activists to undermine pioneering laws that protect the environment. Unfortunately the Chemistry Council is just one of many industry front groups dedicated to making sure nothing interferes with corporate profits.

Top companies ditch climate-wrecking refrigeration

Unilever, Coca Cola and McDonalds have promised to phase out climate-killing chemicals in their refrigeration equipment. This announcement shows that refrigeration can be climate friendly. However other corporations and governments continue to promote or lobby for increased use of climate-wrecking gases.

McDonald's: Bad guys do good?

McDonalds is one of the last corporations we want to say anything good about. We don't like a lot of what it does and what it stands for but we have to take a deep breath here, and give them some credit where it is due.
