IPCC Report Lays Out Options

IPCC lays pout options

Renewable energy and energy efficiency are vital to solving global warming. The next two decades are crucial. Changing our energy use is less costly than changing our climate. These Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has outlined these findings in their third report "Mitigating Climate Change."

New Climate Impacts Report from IPCC

IPCC report findingsThe new report was agreed after almost a week of negotiations, at the end of a tense 24-hour marathon session which became increasingly political. The second of a series of four to be released throughout 2007, this report documents the widespread effects that rising temperatures are already having on ecosystems and human activities and assesses the changes projected from human induced climate change over the next century.

Brussels Climate Change Meeting

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assembles in Brussels this week. On Friday they will deliver their latest assessment on the potential impacts of climate change. While the picture they paint will likely be a dire one, there are concrete steps we can take now to avoid the more nightmarish scenarios.

10,000 lightbulbs

Energy wasting incandescent lightbulbs are so dangerously inefficient it's better for the climate (and your wallet) to smash even brand new ones rather than use them. So we got a road roller and crushed 10,000 energy wasting lightbulbs at the Brandenburg Gate, while EU and G8 ministers were meeting in Berlin today.
