Responding to the Bush Administration’s continued obstruction of international efforts to address global warming, Greenpeace activists turned one of the nation’s most iconic symbols into a memorial to Bush’s failed legacy on climate change. Greenpeace projected on the Washington Monument the message: U.S. Global Warming Plan: Hell and High Water accompanied by an image depicting rising sea levels at the base, a predicted consequence of global warming.

As automobile shows opened in Brussels and Vienna today, Greenpeace challenged the European car manufacturers to stop undermining a European proposal for more fuel efficient cars, and instead take real action to lower the climate impact of their fleets.

Rainbow Warrior joins Balinese flotilla of hope for urgent climate action

A flotilla of fishing boats greeted the Greenpeace flagship, SV Rainbow Warrior, as she sailed into Benoa port Bali today. The fishing boats carried banners saying ‘Save Our Seas - Save Our Corals´ and ‘Climate Action Now´ urging government representatives at the UN Climate Change Conference to step up the fight against dangerous climate change.
