The gas leak that killed thousands in Bhopal 18 years ago was the worst industrial disaster in history and a poignant reminder that multinational companies must not dump their dirty technologies on developing countries. Although Bhopal is the worst case, it is not the only one in India.

Fire at polluting Chemical company

Spreading thick black smoke across the Haifa Bay area, a major fire broke out on Tuesday at the Haifa Chemicals factory near this northern coastal city in Israel. Two workers are reported injured in the fire which has resulted in clouds of toxic smoke being released but now appears to be under control.
