Stop climate change

The world's leaders meet at the end of 2009 in Copenhagen to determine the fate of the climate. They could set us on the path to a deep emissions cuts or they could lock the planet into catastrophic, irreversible climate change.

According to Greenpeace and the Global Wind Energy Council, the Philippines is poised to become the leading wind power producer in Southeast Asia with potential of up 70,000 MW of clean renewable energy from wind. The solution for climate change is a clean energy revolution. It will pave the way for cleaner energy and a safe environment for everyone.

Climate Impacts

Climate change is real and happening right now. Its reality can be seen in melting ice, dying coral reefs, rising sea levels, changing ecosystems and prolonged and more severe droughts. According to the World Health Organization, 150,000 people are already dying every year as a result of climate change. It is for this reason that the world needs to take action now before our planet becomes damaged beyond repair.

Solutions

Greenpeace is pushing for some big, visionary measures to turn around the global trend towards runaway climate change.
