Illegal log vessel expelled in Indonesia

Thanks to the Rainbow Warrior's persistence in monitoring the waters in Central Kalimantan, the Indonesian Navy has today expelled an illegal log vessel owned by the Vietnamese government.

We knew they were dodgy, and now we have proof of just HOW dodgy ... today Greenpeace published an investigation into Swiss/German logging company The Danzer Group, which shows hard evidence of illegal logging, bribery and the defrauding of developing countries.

EU still using illegally traded timber

Almost six months ago we revealed that the European Commission's new headquarters were being renovated with suspected illegal Indonesian wood. Embarrassed, it promised a full enquiry, but has yet to conclude any investigation, clean up its buying policy, or ... do anything much at all. Today the headquarters open.
