Purpose of the Job:
Design, develop and implement the Urban Revolution Project in Greenpeace Mexico, in order to guarantee a joint global action with Greenpeace International (GPI) and with relevant stakeholders in Mexico, and ensure inspiring and creative actions to exert pressure on decision makers (government officials and legislators) and corporations.


Influence public policies and/or corporate with the support of other actors, members, volunteers, cyberactivists, in order to achieve changes that protect the environment.

What will you do?

  • Identify and coordinate research (internal and consultancies) and provide terms of reference (using suitable for a variety of audiences tools) and give general direction to the campaign.
  • Identify key objectives and strategies for the project.
  • Provide inputs for the development of projects based on proposals where relevant.
  • Build relationships with key partners, academics, media activists, industry, politicians and other NGOs to ensure interaction and significant influence to the achievement of objectives.
  • Represent Greenpeace at relevant meetings/conferences with external bodies such as media, industry, governments, NGOs, in order to further the agreed campaign objectives to generate pressure on decision makers (legislators, government officials, etc) and / or corporations, as well as to key audiences.
  • Establish international links with other offices of Greenpeace in order to build synergies.
  • Proactively contribute with the development and implementation of project plans in accordance with guidelines established by Greenpeace International, adapting to the legal, socio-economic and national politics.
  • Set priorities and provide tools and information to project participant areas, to carry out the actions and activities in an appropriate and timely way.
  • Execute and oversee the annual budget for the project, ensuring efficient management of costs and seeking significant savings for GPMX.
  • Coordinate and prepare updates of the movements and/or external trends regarding projects, in order to visualize emerging trends and anticipate changes that could redefine the strategy.
  • Identify opportunities and threats for the project.
  • Establish the critical path (course of action) and display creative solutions for environmental problems.
  • Provide to the Campaigns Director the reports, analysis and status of the project for sound decision-making in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate international collaboration with other offices of Greenpeace and Greenpeace International (GPI) to build integrated projects through the analysis of local, national and global context, in order to detect threats and opportunities.

What do you need to demonstrate?

BA in Political Science, Communication, Environmental Science, Biology.

Experience in analysis of economic and political context, stakeholders mapping and power analysis.

Experience in international cooperation.

Knowledge and understanding of the NGO sector.

Experience in risk assessment.

Willingness to travel constantly.

At least 3 years of experience in:

  • Environmental topics.

  • Coalition work

  • Building and managing public relations.

  • Campaigns citizen involvement.

  • Research skills and/or experience

  • Lobbying skills and/or experience

Competency framework:

Intellectual ability to understand technical and scientific necessary / useful for the project data.

Ability to synthesize technical issues and communicate about them in writing and speaking, adapted to a target audience.

Ability to build and manage relationships with key allies.

Ability to speak, write and understand Spanish and English in advanced level.

Experience working in a cross-cultural working environment; global mindset and love to meet new people, team building and work across countries and cultures.

Ability to operate under pressure and in physically or mentally challenging situations.

Good working knowledge of campaigning.

What else do you need to know?

Monthly Gross Salary: $ 33,239.00 MXN
