A shark body is dumped over the side

This image was shot in March 2011 on board a New Zealand tuna boat fishing in New Zealand waters. The photographer reports more sharks than tuna were caught on the longlines. The sharks had their spines cut, fins sliced off and their carcasses thrown back into the sea.
