"Greenpeace is top of my list as a truly worthwhile
organization. I have tremendous admiration for Greenpeace and its
brave activists. It is not only a voice for the environment, but
is also a brave peace movement, maintaining always the highest
standard of integrity. I especially appreciate that they don't
accept money from governments or big businesses.
To those who are deeply concerned about the perilous state of
our planet, Greenpeace is the only organization which can make a
vital difference, but it needs help in its never-ending battle
against greed and injustice. Please make a gift, no matter how
small so that Greenpeace can help to make a better world for
animals and humans and save our oceans, rivers and forests".

Millions of people around the world rely on Greenpeace for
credible, impartial information on the threats to our environment.
It's a responsibility we take seriously.
A recent survey revealed that New Zealanders put far more trust
in what Greenpeace says about environmental issues than in
politicians, industry or the media.
It's reassuring to know that, in a world where debate on the
environment is often manipulated by vested interests and public
relations agencies, there is an independent voice of sanity and
reason.
When solid evidence of climate change first emerged twenty years
ago, Greenpeace worked hard to bring the threat to the world's
attention.
Despite years of denial and ridicule from our opponents, the
jury is now in. Greenpeace had been right from the start.
When we, and many eminent scientists, stated that bottom
trawling was irreparably damaging deep-sea ecosystems, fishing
interests rubbished our claims.
That was until we produced irrefutable evidence of ancient
corals and rare deep-sea species being dragged up by their enormous
nets, and discarded overboard. Now, the international community
is implementing measures to protect vulnerable marine ecosystems
from bottom trawling.
Just recently, our scientific research team at Exeter University
in the UK produced a report for the Worldwatch Institute,
documenting the perilous state of our oceans and fisheries.
The science and research, as always, are meticulous. Yet, a
wave of denials and attacks on our credibility are surely to
come.
Unlike political parties or corporations, however, we don't
exist for the pursuit of power or profit. We only exist because
you, and millions of other people around the world, want us
to.
Because you want a voice to speak on behalf of you and your
planet, a voice you can trust to speak the truth to the powerful.
Please help keep that voice strong by making a donation
today.
