Today is the last day for submissions on what New Zealand's 2020 target should be. You can read Greenpeace’s submission here.
Also of note today, UK Under-Secretary of State and Foreign Affairs Chris Bryant is currently in New Zealand, addressing business leaders in Wellington about the benefits of cutting emssions. The UK has a target of 34% emission reductions by 2020 and 80% by 2050. In other (and indeed its own) words, it is "embracing the challenge".
Mr Bryant reckons there's a clear economic argument for climate action. And he seems to have little time for the negative attitude we've seen so far from the New Zealand Government. He told Radio New Zealand's Morning Report: "The surest way to fail [in this] is to decide that you're not going to succeed….every country has to step up to the mark."
