As the Arctic melts, oil companies are obtaining rights to drill for oil in this fragile environment. Drilling in these remote, icy areas is dangerous and unnecessary in a world that needs to go beyond oil.

We believe that the oil industry should get out of the Arctic.

Cairn Energy has already been drilling for oil in Arctic waters and plans to continue doing so next season. Yet Cairn's own spill response plan shows that an oil spill here would be catastrophic and near impossible to clean up.

Sign this petition to ask Greenland's Prime Minister, Kuupik Kleist, to protect the Arctic and his country's economy by cancelling Cairn's drilling programme and refusing future licences.
