Say no to nukes!

Thank you for helping us send the no nukes message to the Philippine Congress.

Below is an image of our activity last May 25, where our activists installed pinwheels with the names of those who signed the petition at the gates of Congress in order to send a clear message to our lawmakers that renewable energy, not nuclear power is key to a greener and peaceful future for the PhilippinesMore

Greenpeace “Energy Revolution Bike Ride” concludes with a call to Congress to reject Nuclear energy

Thousands of concerned Filipinos have sent a clear message to the House of Representatives to reject any proposal for nuclear power in the country and instead enable massive uptake of renewable energy.

Their message-petition was delivered by 35 core cyclists of the Greenpeace “Energy Revolution Bike Ride” who arrived today after biking for 3 days and 200 kilometers from Morong, Bataan, site of the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) whose revival is now under deliberation at the Lower House.

The bikers dramatized their petition delivery by covering Congress gates with banners with the message “No to Nukes” and 1,000 pinwheels symbolizing renewable energy. The petition, which calls upon the representatives to reject the proposal to revive the BNPP, has been signed by five thousand people in last five days. Read more
