Greenpeace today challenged the Government of Thailand and the
lawmakers writing the Power Development Plan (PDP2007) to explore the
potential of Renewable Energy combined with Energy efficiency, instead
of pushing the proposal to increase dependence on dirty fossil-fuels
and dangerous nuclear technologies. The call was issued at the
conclusion of a two-day programme on Energy (R)evolution at Chumphon
Environmental Education Center (CEEC) in the town of Prathiu, where
the youth wing of Greenpeace, Solar Generation and local community
installed a 2.5kw wind turbine.
